Valentine’s Day is coming up! When thinking about the perfect date night, think about how serving others is a great way to show love. We have created a new twist to our Sort and Repack volunteer opportunity for February: Couples Night.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity as a fun and exciting way to get involved and feed the hungry,” said Janet Pace, Vice President of Development and Philanthropy for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. “By putting a spin on our established Family Night, we hope to offer a way to volunteer with a loved one.”
Couples Night will be held February 11, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Food Bank. Sort and Repack includes sorting and categorizing non-perishable food items to immediately help those who are hungry. Engaging in this opportunity with a loved one is a great bonding experience while giving back to the community.
As a special treat, Valentine’s Day themed refreshments will be served.
