Partner Agencies are the links between the food bank and the food-insecure individuals we serve .
A food bank serves as a collection and warehousing center. We procure, purchase, sort, and distribute food to our agencies (churches, meal sites, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes, emergency services, etc.). Agencies interact with each person in need to ensure they receive the necessary support.
Partner Agencies are located in the Food Bank’s 11-parish service area .
A service area is the geographical region that a food bank serves.
The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank serves Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.
Partner Agencies receive food from the Food Bank free of charge .
Each agency is placed in a food bank classification.
The classification determines the types of items that an agency is able to access from our warehouse.
