Meet the Team: Stella Robinson

Monday July 29, 2024

Stella’s journey with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank began over 17 years ago when he started as a driver for the organization. As a driver, he was responsible for collecting donations from various retail stores, churches, and schools, as well as delivering food to our different agencies, ensuring that resources reached the community.

He was then promoted to Assistant Warehouse Manager. In this position, Stella managed the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.

Today, Stella holds the role of Transportation Manager. As the Transportation Manager, he oversees transportation, fleet logistics, and scheduling, ensuring that the Food Bank’s operations run smoothly and efficiently. His responsibilities include managing a fleet of vehicles and a team of seven drivers who are essential to our mission to feed the hungry in our 11-parish service area.

What stands out about Stella is not just his professional achievements, but his passion for the mission of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. When asked about his favorite part of the job, he highlighted two key aspects.

“I love giving people jobs. I love being able to hire people and put them in the workforce,” said Robinson. “My other favorite part is actually being able to feed the hungry in our area.”

Stella Robinson’s leadership in transportation ensures that the transportation logistics of the Food Bank remain strong, allowing for the efficient distribution of food to those in need.

Our transportation department is essential to the day-to-day operations of the organization. From collecting donations to delivering food to agencies to transporting food to hand out at mobile distributions, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank could not operate at the capacity it does without this vital part of the team.
