Continuous Improvement Program
The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank’s first intern in our Continuous Improvement program recently completed his internship. Jacob Routier, a May 2022 graduate from Louisiana State University, worked alongside the operations team throughout the spring semester and delivered outstanding performance in the following areas:
- Over 35 Standard Operating Procedures in various areas (Food Safety, Personnel safety, Warehousing best practices, etc.)
- Operations data charts to track Key Performance Indicators for daily and weekly reviews
- Inventory Forecasting Tool for our food procurement team
We want to say a very big “THANK YOU” and congratulations, Jacob! GEAUX Tigers!
“I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and would recommend the opportunity to any of my peers. From the start, everyone was welcoming and made me feel like a part of the team,” said Jacob. “I learned a lot about operations, warehousing, and the complicated logistics behind feeding the hungry in the Baton Rouge area. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a great group of people and learn so much along the way.
Thank you, Mr. Mike, Mr. Seth, and everyone at the Food Bank for the great experience and best of luck in the future!”
