New Tuesday Night Volunteer Opportunity
The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is proud to announce a new volunteer opportunity. Starting in August, we will offer evening volunteer sessions every Tuesday night from 6-8. The first Tuesday of every month will be designated as our “Family Night.” Family Night gives our volunteers the opportunity to serve with younger children. Traditionally, the age minimum for volunteering at the Food Bank is 10 years old with a parent or guardian, however on this evening, we will not run any machinery thus allowing us to lower the volunteer age to 7 years old.
A couple changes will be made to the Food Bank’s volunteer hours, as we have developed the new volunteer shift. Our new volunteer hours will be: Mondays 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., Tuesdays 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesdays 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., Thursdays 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-noon.
