2016 Supermarket Sweep Presented by Peoples Health
The Peoples Health Supermarket Sweep returns to Albertsons on November 2! Local celebrity teams will compete to see who can collect the most food in a timed race around the supermarket. All food collected will be donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
Here’s how it works: participating teams will be given a shopping list comprised of items that will contribute to a well-rounded meal for individuals and families in the Food Bank’s 11 parish service area. The teams will have just minutes to race around the store and collect as much food from the list as possible. Once time is up, cashiers will assess how much food each team has collected to determine a winner. Each team may only have one shopping cart out at a time with only two team members “sweeping” at any given moment during the five minutes of competition.
This exciting and entertaining event brings our community leaders together for a great cause! Join us this year at Albertsons on College at 1 p.m. on November 2 to cheer on your favorite team!
