Empty Bowls – POSTPONED

Wednesday January 29, 2020

What is Empty Bowls?

Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger, personalized by artists and art organizations on a community level. This event will take place at the EBRP Goodwood Library in Baton Rouge on October 3, 2020. You are invited to attend this special event in its fifth year, presented by Baton Rouge Clinic, WVLA and FOX44, to experience a unique fundraising effort that offers access to hundreds of handcrafted ceramic bowls from local Baton Rouge artists, followed by a simple meal for lunch. Tickets are $20.00 and will include one ceramic bowl of your choosing as well as lunch. The event will start at 11 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. Additional bowls can be purchased at the event. All proceeds from Empty Bowls will benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK?

Guests purchase a $20.00 ticket to attend the event. This ticket allows them to choose an original, handmade, ceramic bowl to use for their meal. After the meal, guests are allowed to keep the bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. One hundred percent of each meal’s proceeds are devoted to fighting hunger through the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The goal of this event is to raise awareness while collecting critical funds to provide food for those in need across the Food Bank’s 11-parish service area.
