The Fraenkel Society – Feeding the Future
If you’re looking to make a lasting contribution to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank beyond your lifetime, consider joining the Fraenkel Society – Feeding the Future. This giving society was created for donors looking to leave a philanthropic legacy in their community.
This giving society is named in honor of Mr. Albert Fraenkel and the Fraenkel family, who donated the Fraenkel Furniture Warehouse land and building that now houses the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank’s operation. Without this generous expansion, the Food Bank would not be able to function at its current capacity.
Members of this giving society participate by donating in the form of planned gifts. Planned gifts are contributions made through an estate or trust as a part of a bequest or other form of financial planning. Fraenkel Society members are donors who are leaving a gift to our organization in their will, estate, trust, or another type of deferred gift. Some of these gifts include bequests, IRAs, stocks, or donor-advised funds.
These specialized gifts require the involvement of the donor’s accountant or legal advisor, in partnership with our Planned Giving Specialist. Any gifts are welcome as there are no minimum requirements.
