Both companies have provided grant funding to support food distribution programs, and their teams have regularly volunteered their time to sort and pack food in our warehouse. Their support demonstrates a commitment to corporate social responsibility and to creating stronger, healthier communities.
How Their Contributions Are Fighting Hunger
Entergy has helped support the Food Bank through financial donations for food distributions and programing, as well as frequently volunteering in our warehouse. After the Food Bank experienced a devastating flood in 2016 that inundated our 172,000 square foot warehouse space and destroyed our equipment, Entergy donated five electric forklifts, which allowed us to get back to meeting the needs of our community as quickly as possible.
Mosaic is a supporter of our BackPack Program, which provides children with a bag of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available. Mosaic’s support ensures that children facing food insecurity don’t have to go hungry when school is out.
Additionally, the volunteer hours donated by both companies significantly reduce the burden on our staff, allowing us to operate more efficiently without increasing overhead costs.
