September is Hunger Action Month

Tuesday September 15, 2020

Hunger impacts people in every corner of the country, including 1 in 5 of those in our community. Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, that number may increase this year. This is why the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank joins Feeding America this September by taking part in Hunger Action Month.

Hunger Action Month is a nationwide awareness driver, designed to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger. This annual month-long campaign brings attention to the reality of food insecurity in the United States and promotes ways for individuals across the U.S. to get involved in the movement to help end hunger. This year’s campaign comes at a critical time when the COVID-19 pandemic has hurt millions of people living paycheck to paycheck.

Additionally, a generous donor has graciously agreed to match donations made to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank during September, up to $25,000! Just $1 can provide up to 6 meals for those impacted by food insecurity during this match campaign. Click here to donate today.
